Order and upload your photo
Right at checkout on Etsy. A sharp phone photo is fine; closer is better than a wide landscape.

Tell us about the two of you
A few sentences are enough: names, where you met, the thing only you two find funny. You do not need to write a word list.

Approve your preview
Within 5–7 days you see your piece before anything is printed. Changes are included.

Hang it on the wall
It arrives framed or stretched on canvas, ready to hang, 1–2 weeks after you approve.
From photo to portrait
The couple stays exactly as they are in your photo. Everything around them is rebuilt out of words, thousands of them, each colored by the part of the picture it replaces.
Step closer, and it is all words
From across the room it reads as a photograph. Up close, the background turns out to be made of the words of your story: the large ones you notice first, and tens of thousands of tiny ones underneath that only reveal themselves when you lean in.
Your names, the place you met, the song from your first dance: whatever you tell us is placed where it will be seen.

Made for the days that matter
Questions
How long does it take?
Your preview arrives within 5–7 days of receiving your photo and your few sentences. Printing and delivery take 1–2 weeks after you approve it, so allow 2–3 weeks from ordering to having it on the wall. If your date is sooner, message us before ordering. We would rather turn an order down than miss an anniversary, and we can always send a digital preview to give on the day while the piece follows.
What makes a good photo?
Closer is better: a portrait or half-body shot beats a wide landscape. Sharp and well lit; phone photos are fine, screenshots and heavily filtered images are not. Send the largest file you have, straight from the camera roll rather than from a messaging app. A clear background helps but is not required. Unsure? Message us before ordering and we will tell you honestly whether it will work.
Can I choose the words myself?
Yes. The photo and a few sentences are enough for us to build it, but if you would rather supply your own words or your own text, just tell us.
Which languages?
English and German. Other languages might be possible on request; ask before ordering.
Portrait or landscape?
We follow your photo. The visible area varies slightly with the print size.
What happens to my photo?
We never reuse your photo or your words for anything else, and we never publish your piece without asking you first. All images and texts are deleted within 14 days after an order or conversation ends. The couples in our gallery are examples, not customers.
